Animal Handling at the Zoo

The zoo has certain special animals that are regularly encountered at our handling sessions. Here are a few pictures of some of everybody’s favourites:

The Summer schedule for handling activities is usually the following;

11.30am Meet the Alpacas at enclosure 45 on the zoo trail
12.00am Bugs and Things at the encounter zone
1.00pm Spider phobia at the encounter zone
2.00pm Snakes alive at the encounter zone
and finally
2.30pm Furry and zoo baby encounters at the encounter zone

Winter handling activities are reduced and usually consist of the following;

11.30am Meet the Alpacas at enclosure 45 on the zoo trail
12.00pm Spiders and Bugs at the encounter zone
2.15pm Snakes alive at the encounter zone

Come along and listen joining in with the contact sessions is always optional!
