We offer a pre-visit ticket which is available on booking, for up to two teachers to allow you to carry out a full risk assessment. We provide the guidelines only please use the following link to access these.

Special prices are offered for all visiting schools to the zoo. Our aim is to keep the price per child as low as possible to make the trip affordable. The zoo offers 1 free admission teacher for every 6 paid pupils. A free pre-visit once the booking is made for two teachers for inspection. Entrance price to the zoo for the school children is £4.00 and for extra teachers above the 6:1 ratio is £5.25. All bookings will be confirmed in writing.
Special pre-booked talks at the zoo
Visiting school groups and parties can arrange their own talk at the zoos education centre during their visit. These are free for visiting school and educational groups. (There is a small charge for groups other than these. The money raised from this goes towards one of the zoos fundraising initiatives, campaigns or wildlife charities).
Animals, artefacts, objects and the education staffs enthusiasm help make these sessions one of the most memorable parts of a groups visit. Colour and camouflage, mini-beasts, endangered species and even Tarka the otter are some the talks that the zoo has recently delivered to all key stages of the national curriculum.
If you are interested in a particular theme or subject for your talk please let us know and this can be arranged for you.
Work Packs
Exmoor zoos education team will for booked visiting educational groups, prepare work packs and sheets in a variety of formats for use both in the zoo and back at your school,etc.
There is no charge for producing the template which can be sent to you as a PDF for you to download and print prior to your visit.. This only takes a phone call or email educatexmoorzoo@btconnect.com , but must be at least 2 weeks before your visit when we will happily discuss your requirements.
